Thanksgiving Dining

I have been so excited about Christmas that I had almost forgotten that we are hosting Thanksgiving this year! I woke up in a panic yesterday because I had not put any thought into the decorations and table scape.  My lovely hubby was kind enough to help me out and entertain our little guy so that I could fully concentrate in getting the house ready for Thanksgiving guests.

I started decorating this space by placing this beautiful fall colored table cloth that my mom brought back from Ecuador several years ago.  I love all the colors in it and how it automatically brought the space to life.  I then used simple white place settings to prevent competition from the table cloth.  In the center, I placed this amazing center piece that I purchased at Michaels.  I am a big fan of center pieces that are not so high you are unable to have a conversation with the person in front of you and this one is just at the right height.  The candles provide a nice ambiance and add warmth to the space.

On top of each place setting, I placed a small mustard yellow flower to pull in some color from the table cloth.

My absolute favorite part has got to be these amazing owl salt and pepper shakers from Target.  I think they add a nice whimsical look to the table.  And they just make me smile every time I look at them.

Since the last time I showed you guys the dining room, I added these two wood and metal shelves from Target.  My mom was kind enough to hand down these antique Gold Imari plates so I wanted to add some interest to the wall and incorporate these plates in the room.  Loving the color that these plates add to the room!  I then added a watercolor of a sail boat that we got when vacationing earlier this year in St. Maarten. On the second shelf, I added some knickknacks and two milk glass vases we recently got in a local antique store here in Jacksonville.

Below the shelves, we placed an antique 1930s Victor Radio.  I find this piece amazing and love that it still works!

On the other side of the wall, I placed the second antique Gold Imari plate.  Right above it, I added this mirror from Ballard Designs.  I like how the mirror has been antiqued so it all ties in nicely in the room.  I then place a very large blue glass vase that I bought from HomeGoods. This vase is HUGE and I love how it not only adds color but also height to the room.  I added some simple twigs that I got from Hobby Lobby.  Right next to it is another vase that is filled with wine corks that I have been collecting for years and years.

Lastly, our little bar area also got a little face lift.  I added the same flowers that I used on the table settings and placed them on each empty wine bottle to break up the brown in this area.  I added a DIY candle holder filled with candy corn and some tea lights.

Now we are ready for Thanksgiving dinner! Who's cooking?! LOL.  Back to work for me!  Hope you guys enjoyed this post!
